Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 16, 2026

Privacy First: Sajil stores all data locally on your device using your browser's IndexedDB. We do not operate servers, collect analytics, or transmit any of your information.

1. What Data Sajil Stores

Sajil stores the following information locally in your browser — none of it leaves your device:

  • Form field labels and your answers: When you explicitly click "Save Page," the extension captures the labels (e.g., "Full Name") and the values you entered. These are stored in your browser's IndexedDB.
  • Website hostname: The domain of the site you saved from (e.g., linkedin.com) is stored so answers can be organized by source.
  • Extension preferences: Your settings such as theme and language are stored locally.

2. What We Do Not Collect

Sajil does not collect, transmit, or have access to:

  • Browsing history or web activity
  • Keystrokes, mouse movements, or screen content
  • Passwords or authentication credentials
  • Location data
  • Financial or payment information
  • Health information
  • Personal communications
  • Any analytics, telemetry, or usage tracking

Sajil makes zero network requests. It works entirely offline once installed.

3. How Your Data Is Used

  • Autofill only: Your saved answers are used exclusively to suggest or auto-fill form fields when you trigger the extension via its popup or keyboard shortcut.
  • No third-party sharing: Your data is never sold, transferred, or shared with anyone. There is no server to share it with.
  • No advertising: Sajil does not display ads and does not use your data for advertising purposes.

4. Data Storage and Security

  • All data is stored in your browser's IndexedDB, which is sandboxed — only the Sajil extension can access it.
  • Data is not encrypted at rest by the extension. IndexedDB itself is protected by your browser's security model and your operating system's user account. If you need additional protection, encrypt your device or export backups and encrypt them separately.
  • You can export all your data as a JSON file at any time for backup.
  • You can delete all stored data from the extension settings at any time.

5. Browser Permissions

Sajil requests the following Chrome permissions:

  • storage: To save your answers and preferences locally in IndexedDB and Chrome storage.
  • activeTab: To detect which input field is focused when you trigger autofill, so Sajil can suggest relevant answers.
  • Host permissions (<all_urls>): Required so the extension can run on any job application website — LinkedIn, Indeed, Greenhouse, Lever, company career pages, etc. Sajil does not read or collect page content; it only interacts with form fields you choose to save or fill.

6. Your Rights and Control

You have full control over your data at all times:

  • View: See all your saved answers in the extension popup.
  • Edit: Modify or delete individual saved answers.
  • Export: Download all your data as a JSON file.
  • Delete: Wipe all stored data from the extension settings.
  • Uninstall: Removing the extension deletes all extension-stored data from your browser.

7. Children's Privacy

Sajil is not directed at children under 13. Since no data is collected or transmitted, the extension does not knowingly gather information from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

If we update this privacy policy, the revised version will be posted on this page with an updated date. Since Sajil does not collect email addresses, we cannot notify you directly — we recommend checking this page periodically.
